The Muncie Central baseball team lost 10-1 to Jay County Monday on a windy day at Bottorff Field.
The Bearcats (2-4) committed seven errors in the loss, and saw the Patriots break the game open with a nine-run fifth inning.
Freshman Jordan Poore (0-3) got the loss for Central, going four innings while giving up eight hits and eight runs (six earned). Poore struck out eight Jay County batters and walked just one.
On offense, junior Brannon Muncey was 1-for-2 with an RBI single. Fellow junior Nick Gollifer went 1-for-2 and scored the Bearcats' only run. Freshman Sam Cavanaugh also got his first career hit, a single.
